Workforce Santa Cruz County offers specialized programs for youth and adult job seekers, including members of our community with disabilities, military veterans, and dislocated workers.

Young Adults

Are you feeling like your job search has gone on too long? Workforce Santa Cruz County can help you back into a job – or into your first job or career by exploring career options, preparing for the job search, and connecting you with training or work opportunities that allow you to achieve more!

Here’s what we do:

  • Identify part-time or full-time jobs or internships so you can gain valuable work experience
  • Provide career research tools so you can decide which job is best for you
  • Provide information about school or certificate programs so you feel good that you are choosing the best program for you
  • Identify potential training and skills development opportunities so you don’t have to research it all yourself
  • Help you set up an account with CalJOBS, which is an online tool that allows you to search for jobs, upload your résumé and even apply for jobs within the tool!

Veterans

Veterans Career Services are available for unemployed and underemployed veterans and their spouses and include access to training, job search and placement assistance, and other supportive services.

Here’s what we do:

  • Provide 24-hour priority hold on all job listings* so you have first pick among job opportunities
  • Assist with vocational and career guidance to help you find a career that leads to a secure financial future
  • Identify potential hiring events so you can connect with local companies and build your professional network
  • Draw upon our network of resources to help you with your job search

*Priority of Service: Eligible veterans will receive priority of service, prior to non-eligible persons, at all Workforce Santa Cruz County Career Centers.

Adult and Dislocated Workers

Looking for a new job or career? Laid off from your old job? Need help figuring out which career would be a good fit? Workforce Santa Cruz County can help! If you are 18 years or older, you can access our no-cost services to find a stable job or to find training for a new career. We can even help you figure out what kind of career would be best for you. Dislocated workers receive customized services specific to individuals who have been terminated or laid off, or have received a notice of termination or layoff, generally attributed to a plant closure or downsizing.

  • Tap into our extensive network to identify job opportunities for you to make the search easier
  • Provide access to career research tools so you can decide which job is best for you
  • Provide information on school or certificate programs so you feel good that you are choosing the best program for you
