Free 3rd Party Readers and Viewers

The Workforce Investment Board (WIB) provides links to free third-party readers and viewers to help site visiters view certain site content. We publish documents for download in Microsoft Word (.DOC), Excel (.XLS) and Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) versions. All links are to outside sources and will open in a new window.

Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Files (PDF file extensions)

• For Windows - Adobe Acrobat Reader
• For Macintosh - Adobe Acrobat Reader

Microsoft Word Files (DOC file extensions)

• For Windows - Microsoft Word Viewer
• For Macintosh* - Word Documents can be opened with Appleworks (currently shipped with OSX)
• For Macintosh* - OpenOffice is a free and open productivity suite
• For Macintosh* and Windows - Google Docs requires free registration

Microsoft Excel (XLS file extensions)

• For Windows - Microsoft ExcelViewer
• For Macintosh* - Excel Spreadsheets can be opened with Appleworks (currently shipped with OSX)
• For Macintosh* - OpenOffice is a free and open productivity suite

*Note: Microsoft does not have a free Macintosh viewer for Word or Excel.

Text Size

• Using Internet Explorer: Go to View and select Text Size, or to increase the size of everything (including images) go to View and select Zoom.
